The Grand Hotel
The city center is renowned for its bustling square and the magnificent Grand Théâtre, which is located across from The Grand Hotel, an international establishment. There isn’t a more famous or convenient spot to stay, in actuality. With exquisite architectural elements everywhere one looks, this historic monument is stunning both inside and out.
Every room has its own size and décor, and they’re all decorated with parts of the original 19th-century design. Le Pressoir D’Argent, the restaurant under Gordon Ramsay’s direction, with two Michelin stars and excellent service.
The hotel features a well-liked rooftop bar called Night Beach, which offers expansive city views. Its most valued feature, outside its prime position and opulent manor-like atmosphere, is perhaps its Guerlain spa, which is the greatest in the area.
Huge columns, gorgeous white drapes, and 40-foot-high ceilings surround the pool and relaxation area. A balcony is set aside for patients receiving treatments. It’s exotic and brings up memories of living in opulent grandeur during the Roman era, when visiting the healing waters was an expensive affair. This amazing area is so magnificent that even non-swimmers will want to have a dip in the bubbling hot springs.
Try The Bordeaux, which is housed in the Intercontinental Bordeaux – The Grand Hotel and has an indoor and outdoor patio overlooking the historic Grand Théâtre, for a functional, modern, and laid-back kitchen. Both residents and visitors like visiting this stylish brasserie. Among the assortment of goods are seasonal options created with regional produce.
The seafood risotto tasted exceptionally good and brought to mind the abundance of the sea, and our starter of tomato burrata served over arugula stood out in particular. The wine server was gracious enough to provide us multiple Bordeaux wine tastings, introducing us to some of the best options available in the area. The Fine Capon The restaurant, located in a building from 1825, is the oldest operating restaurant in Bordeaux. The chef focuses on highlighting local produce and regional wines to complement and excite the palette. Its refined cuisine combines the ingredients and techniques that have made France a culinary giant. They are all out in force with his unique interpretations.
Our pan-fried Foie gras The langoustine and monkfish pasta dishes are particularly distinguished by their creative preparations. Put yourself in his expert hands and enjoy a quality culinary experience in this elegant and refined place.
Before leaving the city, eat at L’Observatoire du Gabrielle located on Place de la Bourse, one of the city’s most emblematic buildings. Many tables offer views of the Place, the fountain and the Garonne, beautifully lit at night.
The cuisine is classic French, using seasonal local ingredients with a modern interpretation. The excellence of the preparation, presentation, wine service and attentive staff explain the award of a Michelin star in 2024 .
The best of the region was unveiled to us through the tasting menu. The season was celebrated by heirloom tomatoes seasoned with balsamic and topped with tomato sorbet and a parmesan tuile. From then on, every item exceeded the previous one, culminating in a veal main course that was surrounded by vegetables and mushrooms and served with a sauce that included capers. It declares that the chef is deserving of a Michelin star and was the best in the class for this particular protein.
The wine service provided by sommelier Julian was exceptional. Each course was interesting in its own right and artfully complemented the dish presented. It’s a feat of strength restaurant whose stars will only shine brighter with time.
