Title: Sweet Paris
Review: I love French desserts. We have a local French baker that is awesome. I have always wanted to try and make some French desserts myself. This cookbook is full of great recipes of some of my favorite French desserts. Great pictures to which is really important to me in a cookbook.

Title: Memories of Paris
Review: This book is delightful. We’ve been to Paris several times and my granddaughter and I were just there in March. I’m not a dessert eater but plan to try some of these recipes this summer, with my granddaughter. Hopefully the family will enjoy our efforts.

Review: Haven’t tried any of the recipies although they seem manageable. It’s the photos that I love more: Everyday life scenes surrounded by pastries and patisseries galore. Makes me imagine I’m back in Paris though it’s never the same as actually being there, but this book is a close second.

Review: Beautiful images with great description! Most books don’t bother explaining the subtle difference between chocolates, bonbon, etc, but this book takes the time to list all the differences. The images of the desserts make me want to travel to Paris right away!

Review: This is my favourite type of cookbook – a culinary journey through (in this case) Paris as perceived via the eyes, ears, nose and spirit of the author.To describe it in one word – breathtaking. Very, very classy; stylishly photographed to stunning effect which gives the reader a true insight into the heart and soul of Paris and its people, it has photographs of shops, architecture (and patisserie recipes) with addresses that visitors might find useful, all of which shows that a huge amount of thought has gone into putting this book together.Don’t expect any surprises recipe-wise: it’s traditional to the core and features quintessentially French patisserie: Pain au Chocolat, Madeleines, Brioche, Croissants, Tarte Au Citron etc – none of which I would bake myself, but you don’t buy this book necessarily for the recipes; you buy this book to devour the culture, architecture and heart of Paris which I do as often as possible.For anyone who’s looking for a ‘personal’ gift for a lover of Paris, look no further.

Review: I bought this for my wife after a trip to Paris. Not only does it analyse what is so special about Parisienne patisserie, it also evokes what is so special about Paris.As baking has become more and more popular over the last year or two, some are branching out from cupcakes etc and are looking for something fresh, new, creative and of a higher standard. If you are, you won’t go wrong with this book. It not only details how to recreate some of the the popular items you will find in a patisserie, but it shows you the French way of creating them which is, undeniably, the best.

Review: This is a truly beautiful book, with evocative pictures of Paris as well as mouthwatering images of the recipes. More than a cookery book it gives the reader an insight of Paris and where to visit for the best pastries and confectionery. The recipes look easy to follow, so far I have made the friands and the rich dark chocolate ice cream – both were a resounding success. I didn’t have any raspberries in the fridge for the friands and used preserved wild cherries instead which worked very well. Some other recipes which I will try soon : Chocolate Eclairs, Macarons, Tarte au Citron, Brioche Nanterre.
