Tarte aux prune caramélisée(焦糖梅子馅饼)

Title: Wonderful cookbook that celebrates the Paris we all wish we could call ‘home’!
Review: Tasting Paris: 100 Recipes to Eat Like a Local is the kind of book that will bring Paris right into your kitchen. Smartly organized and beautifully photographed, Clotilde Dusoulier’s newest cookbook is her best yet. Clotilde’s writing style is so charming and delightful that you will be drawn into her utterly lovely world of accessible French food. She is your Parisian BFF! I’ve had the honor of testing recipes for Clotilde during the development of several cookbooks, including this newest publication. What I love most about Tasting Paris is the breadth of recipes that reflect the spirit and culture of France, and are completely accessible to those of us who are mere mortals in the kitchen. There are many favorite recipes in this book. Be sure to try Rice and Ginger soup (OMG good) when you are ailing or need some extra nurturing. The Potato Chip & Chive Omelet is an unexpected treat – so much flavor and easy breezy to make. If you want something delicately sweet, you can’t miss with the Blackberry Bostock. Be sure to make the Bistro Vinaigrette – you’ll soon call it your ‘go-to’ salad dressing. There are many more recipes I could feature, but you’ll soon discover your own favorites. I’d encourage you to add this cookbook to your collection. It is a winner!

Title: If you like to eat delicious food get this book
Review: This book has become essential in our house with so many dishes now weekday and weekend staples. Clotilde’s directions are clear and seemingly foolproof. Her roast chicken recipes are a hit with kids and grown ups, the oven fries truly are amazing, fantastic quiche recipe, I could go on. I Have especially loved experimenting with the desserts. I have successfully made profiteroles, chocolate mousse, and homemade puff pastry when I never would have thought any of those would be within my reach. The cake and chausson recipes are in high demand in our house. There are so many recipes that are easy to make but make every meal a delight, and you feel like you’ve done really well for yourself even on a Wednesday night when you were too tired to really cook much of anything. Plus the pictures are gorgeous and I love Clotilde’s suggestions for variations on the dishes. If you like to eat this is the recipe book for you.

Title: Spend the day in Paris, via 100 recipes for classics and beyond!
Review: Full disclosure: I was a recipe tester for this book and am a longtime fan of the author and her blog. Having said that, I give this new book of hers five stars and recommend it to home cooks everywhere! It will bring you into a representative day in Paris through the medium of cooking, and it does so in the form of a beautifully photographed series of images that accompany 100 recipes. These include French classics as well as selections from the diversity of communities that enrich Paris today, which to me means there is something for everyone, and every part of your day. Please note that I’m not a professional cook, just someone who likes to fool around in the kitchen and is always learning new things. These recipes are not overly complex or fussy, but the results are impressive–so don’t be intimidated if you are new to this and still developing your kitchen chops. From these recipes, I learned new techniques (new to me) and have gotten a bunch of rave reviews from all kinds of people at my table. I’ve also learned a thing or two about Paris, and even if you’re already familiar with the city, this is the kind of book that will revive your fondest memories and maybe just make you want to revisit favorite places, and explore new ones. PS this book would make a lovely gift for your favorite cook, or your favorite someone who loves Paris!

Title: Great book for Paris food lovers
Review: This is a super cookbook with lots of easy to follow recipes, beautiful photos and lots of useful information about Paris, food, wine, cocktails and lots more. The book divides the day and accompanying food into 6 parts from morning to late night and each part includes a nice variety of food for that time of day. The recipes are all very usable by the average cook but, even if you don’t use any of the recipes, the book is very worthwhile simply for it’s readability and interesting facts. A must book for all Paris food lovers.

Title: Love it
Review: If you are in love with any and all things Parisian this would be right up your alley. The cookbook features 100 french recipes. It is divided up into the following sections: Welcome to Paris, Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Early Evening, Evening, Late Night. The recipes are easy enough for just about any at home cook. I love how there are various entry regarding French Culture for example the author speaks about the Poilane Family (3 generations of bread bakers) and history. The recipes feature a beautiful photo which is always a plus for me. Personally I need a photo to kinda know what to expect. The first recipe we tested were the Old- Fashioned Apple Turnovers, which were so simple to make. They looked fresh out of a bakery and were amazingly delicious. I recommend this book as it would be an excellent addition to your cookbook library.

Title: Another Winning Cookery Book!!
Review: Like all of Clotilde Dusoulier’s cookery books (I now own several), this one is beautifully written and photographed with a carefully tested selection of recipes. If you are a fan of Clotilde as I am, do go to her Chocolate and Zucchini website where she posts truly interesting blogs, recipes and tidbits that are so enticing they make me want to return to Paris soon again. I highly recommend this cookery book to you!As an aside, I think that her recipe for buckwheat crepes in Tasting Paris might not be quite as authentic, as the one she has posted online. If you’re interested in making these crepes, do take a look at both recipes. I favor the online one that has plain flour added along with the buckwheat flour. The traditional crepe filling of egg, ham and cheese, however, is authentic and really delicious with these crepes.I doff my hat to Clotilde for the fantastic job she’s doing online and in her cookery books of bringing together an international community of people who really love France, Paris, good food and French cooking. Bravo, Clotilde!!!

Review: I am enjoying reading this cookbook as much as I am cooking from it. I am learning a lot about Parisian culture. I discovered I have been ordering my coffee under the wrong name every time I go to Paris ! I like the mixture of rich french food and the vegan healthy options in this cookbook. There are also some recipes from northern Africa which give the cookbook an international flair. I made the deviled avocado tonight and it was a big hit and a tasty new way to serve hummus. I plan to make the Earl Grey Madeleines, croissants and Brioche sometime soon.

Title:
Review: I’ve been following Clotilde on her blog and social media for a few years, and have always loved what she shares. It is no different with Tasting Paris! Clotilde writes beautifully, drawing you into her French life in Paris (where I also live). As someone who has moved to France a few years ago, I’m always looking for French ‘insiders’ to teach me a bit about the life (that normally means food!) here, and she does just that by sharing personal tidbits of her family and life in Paris! Her stories bring to life the food she shares in the book. I’ve already made a couple recipes, and they will absolutely become regulars in our home.
